Specifications
Description
The Malibu is Pro-Tech’s first foray into the manual flipper market. It comes in two blade shapes: a Reverse Tanto or Wharncliffe. Both feature premium CPM 20CV blade steel for long lasting edge retention and strength, and have a high flat grind for a razor cutting edge that terminates in a fine piercing tip. The Pro-Tech maker’s mark has been moved the spine of the knife, while the steel stamp is cleverly hidden on the flipper tab, providing a clean form devoid of superfluous markings. The handle is ergonomically designed to comfortably fit any size hand; sporting a gently curved spine with finger indexing set into the chamfer on the front of the handle. A mini deep carry clip ensures that this slender knife carries discreetly.
The Malibu has an amazingly smooth action and can easily be opened and closed with one hand, while never placing your fingers in the path of the blade. Once open, simply close the blade with an easy push of the button and tilt of the handle. The blade runs on ultra-smooth ball bearings riding on protective hardened steel washers, which allows the blade to flow from open to close with nothing more than a light flick of the flipper and push of the button.
This specific Pro-Tech Malibu is sporting a CPM-20CV Wharncliffe blade that is hand ground and mirror polished by Mike Irie, a textured bronze anodized aluminum handle, a mosaic button, and satin hardware and clip.
